Born in 1992 - Brazil, Yuri Leal lives and produces in Amsterdam, studied at the Fine Arts
School of São Paulo, laying the foundation for his artistic exploration. However, what
stands out is his self-taught and multidisciplinary approach. By using traditional techniques from
European masters in drawing and painting, he brings a classical element to his contemporary
projects, focusing on juxtapositions between form and background and color relationships that
convey complexity and weight.
Leal's immersion in the art world from a very young age, working as an assistant to artists and
gallery owners, has probably provided him with valuable insights and practical knowledge. His
involvement in organizing important art fairs, such as SP-Arte and the PARTE fair, further
demonstrates his commitment to and understanding of the wider art community.
